Senior Accounting Manager
Fournarakis S.A., is currently looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor. As an Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all accounting & tax issues, financial transactions and reports. You will work closely with the accounting team and senior management to implement and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises, organizes and monitors the daily activities of the accounting department, developing, automating and reviewing relevant processes
- Ensures accuracy & timely completion of accounting entries and their compliance with Greek Accounting Standards
- Monitors and submits VAT-INTRASTAT-VIES, ΦΜΥ, withheld taxes and other tax returns
- Organizes the process for correct registration of transaction documents-invoices according to My Data
- Checks monthly balances and supervises the process of commercial-accounting and warehouse agreements
- Manages month-end and year-end closing processes
- Participates in, and overviews the annual financial statements, the drafting of the Annual Income Statements, financial results, and their submission to TAXIS and G.E.MH.
- Collaborates with auditors and other external associates for tax and accounting issues, assisting in the preparation of audit schedules and financial statements
- Assists in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
- Understands and possesses knowledge of corporate legal issues, the process of establishing a business, constitution and amendments of a statutory legal entity
- Provides training and guidance to accounting staff, fostering results & team orientation, and a continuous learning environment
- Stays updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations, and ensures the accounting department's practices are in compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Master's degree or ACCA/CIMA certifications are desirable
- Class A Signatory rights are mandatory
- Proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor or in a similar role, at least 5 years, in a big company (100+ employees) with commercial activity, imports - exports
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, tax, labour law and fiscal practices
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (preferably Entersoft)
- Excellent use of MS Office tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced knowledge & use of Greek and English, both written and oral
- Leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment, with positive mindset, results orientation and solution drive
